BBC NEWS and the Algerian terrorists...
After a series of devastating suicide bomb attacks in Kabylia this month of August 2008, here is what BBC NEWS publishes:
Military campaign
Both attacks occurred in the area just east and south of the capital, Algiers, where recent violence has been most intense.
That area skirts Kabylia, a Berber-speaking region where Algerian security forces have long struggled to extinguish rebel groups.
"There has been a constant military campaign that clearly is very difficult to achieve, largely because the region is mountainous and the local population is either indifferent or sympathetic to the extremists," said George Joffe, a North Africa specialist at Cambridge University's Centre of International Studies.
At the same time, he said many militants have rejected a recent government amnesty that was launched as part of a peace and reconciliation plan passed by a referendum in 2005.
"The Algerian authorities are facing a major problem in terms of conceiving a way of dealing with this," he said.

NEWS BBC has a serious reputation but today i am asking the following questions:
On what basis was the assertion about the Kabyles sympathy toward the Islamists?
An investigation, evidence, journalists on the spot?
None of that, no! Simply the statement allegedly made by Georges Joffre, an unlikely expert on North Africa ...
What does Georges Joffre knows about Kabylia?
Has he ever been there or has he ever studied history or politic of Kabylia? I don't think so!
The French state forges the best relationship with the Algerian government which represents with the Islamists the worst enemies of Kabylia.
A simple search on the net about Kabylia and there are plenty of information that confirm the fact that Islamists and Kabyles are everything but friends.
Today even journalistic honesty has a price, like everything on the marked place. The question is how much?

Azul fellak Jug, I suggest
Azul fellak Jug,
I suggest you write an email to this so-called broadcasting corporation that spreads misinformation about our people and present their audience with a warped view of Algerian politics. Calling the terrorists "militants" - note that the same Islamists are called "terrorists in Britain" -, inventing a so-called "sympathy" from Imazighen to their sworn enemies the Islamists (a lie you could only find at the BBC) and then interviewing this neanderthal so-called "North Africa specialist" who hasn't the slightest clue about Kabylia, Algeria or North Africa.
Here's the email of this ignorant simpleton George Joffe girgis@meapec.fsnet.co.uk I've written an email to him explaining to him in clear terms where he can shove his "expertise" of North Africa. I suggest you do the same Jugurthen and please do publish his email to let the readers let their feelings known to this armchair expert.
