The 128th martyr of the Black Spring
Movement For The Autonomy Of Kabylia M-A-K
FARID ACID The 128th martyr of the Black Springr
Farid Acid, a youth from Tizi-Ghennif (80km South West from Kabylia’s capital Tizi-Ouzou), just died. Bearly 21 years of age, during the event of the Kabyle Black Spring of 2001, he was hit by the Gendarms (military Police/Marshalls) who had opened fire in his town as well on demonstrators of which he was part. It required many interventions just to have a lift into the plane which took him to France. After 8 years of hospitalization at Hôtel-Dieu de Nantes. He was condamned to the wheelchair for life, and from time to time showed a hopeful sign of healing. Not anymore, he just gave in to his wounds.
The MAK is humbled and salutes the Farid’s memory, and assures the family of this 128th victim of its solidarity and compassion.
The MAK will file complaints and grievances with the International Institutions on behalf of the Kabyl Youth assassinated by the Algerian regime from 2001 to 2004. Painfully, this Martyr reminds all of us of his other camrads and calls upon our reflection as a hommage to all of them. He also reminds us that as long as Kabylia doesn’t dispose of itself through a regional autonomy, the assassins who govern us, can recedive.
Peace be with our martyrs. Long Live Kabylia, Free and Autonomous Kabylia July 31st, 2009.
