On Tuesday October 7, 2008, a human rights defender reported that six people in Algeria have been accused of non-respect of Muslims Ramadan fasting, and have been sentenced to four years in prison each by the court of Biskra (420 Km south of Algiers).

Nobody has expected such a scorn case of the Amazigh (Berber) identity denial at the heart of kabylia. The officials of the public record department or the civil status of the city of Tizi-Wuzu are not at their first misdemeanor.

After a series of devastating suicide bomb attacks in Kabylia this month of August 2008, here is what BBC NEWS publishes:

Military campaign
Both attacks occurred in the area just east and south of the capital, Algiers, where recent violence has been most intense.
That area skirts Kabylia, a Berber-speaking region where Algerian security forces have long struggled to extinguish rebel groups.
