Kabylia before the French Colonialism

Kabylia had always managed to maintain its freedom and its political independence well before the terrorist Arab-Islamist invasion in the 6th century. However, with the advent of the French colonialism, Kabylia found itself fighting on two fronts; against the barbarous Arab-Muslim imperialism on the one hand and against the traditional allies of the fascist totalitarian Arab-Islamists, the fascist French colonists, on the other hand.

Massinissa

Terentius Afer ( Afer in Berber )( 185 BC- 159 BC) : The Youngest Famous Berber Dramatist

Afer was born in 185 BC. , Taken away from his village by Roman legionary in the region of Hippo (now Annaba in the eastern Algeria), "Afer" means in Berber: the inhabitant of Africa (Roman province of eastern North Africa (Tamazgha in Berber) which includes the present Tunisia and Libya).

Couscous: about the etymology of the word

The Berber origin of the word couscous does not make any doubt, even if its exact formation has some darknesses. Indeed, the term, in the base form seksu (and various local phonetic alternatives) is attested in almost all the Berber Algéro-Morrocans dialects: kabyle, Chleuh, Riffian… (Cf Dallet 1982, p. 709, Destaing 1938, or Laoust 1920, p. 78, which gives a statement of attested forms).

Apuleius (123 A.D - 180) the Famous Berber writer

We cannot talk about Berber literature without referring to Apuleius who belongs to an era where literature was at the dawn of its expansion before the Renaissance comes to the world. The fact that all his work is essentially bundled in one book, does not deny his importance in the Berber literature growth. Some even consider him as the father of the novel.

The St Valentine’s Day

The St Valentine’s Day of Romans was Lubercus, holidays of the fertility of the shepherds and the herds. Billy goats and goats (tackles) were sacrificed.The half bare young men, coated with some blood of animals, ran (roamed) then in the city, drinking and laughing, while whipping without violence the young ladies whom they crossed with fragments of skin of the sacrificed animals.
