"THASRITH N WANZA" is the name of "rainbow" in BERBER dialect of RIF region,but the name "THASRITH N WANZA" is composed of three words, THASRITH,N and WANZA which means in ENGLISH: "THE BRIDE OF ANZA", any non-berber speakerS would wonder, who is ANZA?!
The answer is that, ANZA is the god of rain, for the ancient BERBERS (kabyles, RIFIS, CHAWIS, soussis, nefoussis,....) but what is noticebale is the relation between rainbow and berber bride! , in fact the rainbow fastinate people by its beautiful colours, so the bride of the berbers which is called"THASRITH" and the Berber woman in general is known by its colourful cloths and jeweleries, we should know also that the Ancient berbers used to starve to death when droughnss falls, so they created a special god for them to ask for rain, they called it "ANZA", they would praise him to give them rain, but did they donate it a women?! in fact no, the berber woman has never suffered the orliarchy before the invasion of the Arabs, because the name of "woman" in all the berber dialects(kabyle,rifin,chawi,tamashikt....) is "THAMGHART" which means in English "The biggest or the most respected", unlike the Arabs who used to burn their female babies alive, the Berbers used to have a great respet to their females, they had many Queens in ancient history( BOYA and YARA of RIF, DIHYA of KABYLYA and AWRAS region, MAGHIGHDA of IMOUHA(TUAREGS) of today's Mali and Niger) in fact, the Berbers preceeded many european and Asians in ancient times, to had such great place of woman in society.
